Funders See the Big Picture
As a funding group, our goal is to provide grants and funds to Somali creatives “back home”. We want to incentivize the creation of short-form videos and films, with the goal of funding bigger productions through larger Somali funding support. The aim of our funding will not only help continue develop the skills needed to make Somali films visually appealing, but also allow the creation of interesting and thought provoking films.

Sustainable Funding
Filimada is supported through small monthly contributions from its funders. We’ve opted to use this model of funding as part of our Building Tracks philosophy. In this way, a consistent two way interaction is formed between Filimada and its funders.
We use a two tier member/supporter system to sustain Filimada. Recognizing the importance of privacy, Filimida uses BuyMeaCoffee to process the monthly payments. BuyMeCoffee is a trusted platform used by many individuals and organizations to facilitate funding to their ventures.

We’re intent on doing things differently. Our members get regular updates on our finances by not only hearing from us, but also seeing our statements directly.
